COLUMBIA, S.C., December 4, 2014 – – Health Sciences South Carolina (HSSC), a “first in the nation” healthcare research and clinical improvement collaborative, has chosen Lux + Associates as its agency of record. Lux will be providing a full spectrum of communications consulting services to HSSC.

HSSC was established in 2004 by the leaders of Clemson University, the Medical University of South Carolina, the University of South Carolina, Greenville Health System, Palmetto Health, and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Since then, AnMed Health, McLeod Health, and Self Regional have joined the organization, which employs collaborative research to improve the healthcare and public health status in South Carolina.

Lux was HSSC’s first marketing firm in 2004 and served as its only communications strategist until 2010. Commenting on the new contract, Lux President and Founder Melanie Lux said, “It’s great to rejoin an organization that is transforming healthcare and public health in South Carolina. The timing for a new agency is perfect, added Lux, as HSSC is on the verge of naming a new chief executive officer.
